Instructional Design at CSUMB
I'm an artist and a writer, and I studied instructional design at California State University, Monterey Bay, to:
And, of course, did it because I have questions: How do environment, background, culture, and age affect the ability to learn? How can instructional designers present information so that different types of learners can understand it? Is there a single approach that works for every learning style, or should we attempt to customize content for learners? How can we leverage the strengths of user interfaces, including touch screens, voice-controlled devices, and motion-sensitive systems, to convey information and instructions? What's the best way to use content on the web for instructional design?
I wanted to examine the methods and patterns we use to present information and experiment with new ones. And ultimately, I want to combine the principles of learning theory with emerging technology to create user experiences that are innovative, effective, intuitive, and inspired.
